I am a follower of Christ + wife + adoptive mom + Community Pastor at Liberty Church Brooklyn.
I love the local church. Like Bill Hybels, I believe it is the hope of the world. I have dedicated my life to serving it.
I grew up Catholic, it’s what you do when you are Hispanic and live in Tucson, Arizona. When I was 15 years old, a serious, Jesus-loving teenager invited me to her youth group (thank you Anna Morgan). It was there that I heard a simple message that changed my life. Jesus died for me, and because of that, I could have a relationship with God. That night everything changed. May, 16, 1996, (the day after I graduated high school) I signed up for a summer internship and have been in ministry ever since. Youth ministry, women’s ministry, small groups, worship, creative arts, media, outreach, missions… my whole adult life has been about building the local church.
I have been married to the great love of my life and best friend, Justin, for over 16 years. We have been on many adventures and served churches in Seattle and Los Angeles. Our most exciting adventure has been our adoption journey. In September 2012, God blessed us with our son Rocco, who is a firecracker, and definitely worth the wait. In 2014, God lead our family to New York to be a part of Liberty Church. My husband Justin and I now pastor Liberty Church Brooklyn.
Brooklyn is my home. I love being a mom, and hope to live each day in a way that honors God.
